Matthew has been serving the legal needs of his clients since his admission to the Bar in 2009. His practice primarily focuses on the defense of cases involving claims of personal injury and property damage arising from premises, product, trucking and auto, and construction litigation.
Matthew is counsel for retailers throughout Georgia for all claims of injury arising from the operation of their locations. He has also developed a successful motions and appeals practice, including representing clients on appeal before the Georgia Court of Appeals, the Supreme Court of Georgia, and in the Eleventh Circuit Court of Appeals.
After graduating Emory Law School, Matthew worked as a prosecutor in Clayton County, Georgia where he was the lead trial attorney in numerous matters and specialized in domestic violence cases. Immediately prior to joining Dermer Appel Ruder, Matthew was with Gray, Rust, St. Amand, Moffett, & Brieske for over five years. His prior practice focused on litigation in state and federal court, with a particular emphasis in representing municipalities.
At Dermer Appel Ruder, Matthew has expanded his practice to include the representation of plaintiffs in catastrophic personal injury, wrongful death, and medical malpractice lawsuits.
